James Zwerg participated in the Freedom Rides in the South in the sixties. Just people riding on a bus with de-segregated seating. Just for that? Mobs of people beat and maimed the Freedom Riders severely at nearly every place the bus stopped.
The Freedom Riders, however, did not return violence. They committed themselves to non-violence. They resisted moral evil in their time without resorting to evil. They overcame violence and oppression without resorting to violence and oppression.
If i can manage in my life to pluck up even half the amount of courage shown by the Freedom Riders, i might just make a difference in the world. These people are my heroes.

So tired of not being able to get around down town. The whole place is in a constant state of being torn apart. None of the streets go through anymore.
